Coastal or river cleanup
Fifteen coastal sites across mainland Lapu-Lapu and Olango Island have been designated for the 2026 International Coastal Cleanup, starting at 6 a.m. under the theme Clean Seas for Resilient Communities. Sites include the Poblacion ferry boat area, Bridge Park in Pajo where the opening programme is held, Pusok, Ibo, Buaya, Liberty Shrine in Mactan, Punta Engaño, Maribago, Marigondon, Suba-Basbas, Babag, Calawisan, Canjulao, Looc and the Olango barangays of Caubian, Pangan-an and Caohagan. Government workers, residents, organisations, schools, businesses and other volunteers are invited.
